Buying Decisions Define Values

You can say your organization supports __ but, if your buying decisions don't align with that statement, it's mere virtue signalling.

Authenticity matters. Your customers, employees and suppliers watch what you do as an organization and form opinions of your values. Purpose is a key aspect of your brand and someone once said, "the chief procurement officer must become the chief purpose officer." Meaning, the ultimate test of living your purpose as an organization is the buying decisions that your organization makes.

If you say you want Indigenous reconciliation, buy from Indigenous businesses and hire Indigenous people. If you say that you support equity seeking groups, buy from businesses owned by members of those groups. If child poverty is a thing that you care about, hire at-risk youth. Énska helps you figure this out on your project and supports the team as they do this at zero premium cost.
